Background: Primarily growing up in the Appalachian mountains, the outdoors has always been my favorite playground and healing space. When I was little I was swinging on vines, climbing trees, rolling in mud, interacting with bugs, birds, and other animals. Eating fresh food from the dirt and doing naked rain dances with my grandma under the sun and moon. I started boating when I was three, horseback riding at 12, foraging/ growing food, and climbing mountains barefoot ever since I could remember.
During my Environmental Studies Career, I took various courses/ internships that taught me how to live off of the land in the wilderness, be more in touch with the ecosystems, and respect indigenous knowledge. I pull from my childhood, college experience, raft guiding on the Colorado River, New York State Park educator/ researcher position, a biological researcher in the New Mexico desert, and personal mountain climbs/ river runs to encourage others to find their bliss in our natural surroundings.
